Intro from Mom: this is Lissie’s first post in the Summer Blogging series here at Caffeinated Kids. The blogging series is part of school for them for the summer. They’ll be posting several times a week through the end of August. Enjoy!
It is six days till Joey’s birthday, June 27. I have no idea for what to get as a birthday present. Why not knit something? It would probably take to much time. Besides, I can’t use my new yarn that Grandma Victoria sent me, because Mom had to give the ball winder back to Grandma, because it’s her’s.
Since I now have $15, I can give Joey $2, buy him one book, and a mini notebook with a push-pencil. If there is any money left over, I can get him a pack of hair-ties or a card.
Come to think of it, I’ll wrap his presents in tissue-paper and tie a yarn bow on each one. I’ll use my white yarn or the cool-looking red one. I think I’ll use both, and on the big, white box I got from Mamow last year at Christmas.
Unfortunitly, I can’t find my white tissue-paper. Now I must buy more or use the one we have. I think I’ll buy more.

Ah, that rascally disappearing tissue paper! I have had the same thing happen to me on numerous occasions. I think it runs away and hides while you’re sleeping. I am sure, though, that Joey will love whatever you decide to get him. Your mom said you liked the yarn I sent you – I was pretty sure you’d think it was just as beautiful as I did. I’ll try and get a good picture of the Arizona sunset soon, and send it to you so you can see how those colors in the yarn match the sky.
